Total Solutions is a family-owned SharePoint consulting firm based in Metro Detroit. I joined as a design associate and the company’s first Challenge Detroit fellow in 2019.
I assist our design team with understanding users and translating their needs into digital solutions. My work embraces design thinking to deeply understand user needs and quickly adapt to their feedback. I support requirements gathering, understanding information architecture, and building visual prototypes that move our clients towards digital transformation.
Our design team combines design thinking principles with the tenants of the agile framework. I create user stories and acceptance criteria that help bring our design concepts to life, adapting to user input and concerns. I have put these concepts into action as a product owner for multiple internal SharePoint initiatives.
Working at a small business has given me exposure across the business. I have helped manage finance processes and operations optimizations, scoped sales deals, and developed documentation for products that our R&D team has built. This exposure has helped me rapidly learn about the intricacies and challenges of running a business.
