I am an editor-in-chief at Mind Equals Blown, a site that covers the music and pop culture from the perspective of passionate fans. The site has been a labor of love since 2008, and I joined as a staff writer in 2014 during my senior year of high school.
I write whenever I have the chance to talk about music that I care about. I’ve written dozens on pieces on the site, mostly focused on reviewing new pop punk, indie, and pop records. I’ve interviewed a few bands and folks in the industry, along with lengthier pieces about albums celebrating anniversaries.
I’ve been an editor on the site since 2016, working with a small editorial team to guide the site and its writers. My time as editor has taught me about collaborating over the internet, setting the direction for a team of writers and photographers, along with managing my personal goals as a writer with the direction of the site.
I became an editor-in-chief began in 2019, when a few editors decided to move on from the site. I have worked with another editor-in-chief to help recruit new writers and photographers to our team, ensuring that the site remains a place for fans to write about what they love and develop as creators.
